Rockstar Games Announces New Studio Acquisition As It Aims To Release GTA 6 In 2025
"The studio will be renamed Rockstar Australia". Rockstar Games, the team behind the legendary Grand Theft Auto and Red Dead Redemption franchises, has today announced its intention to acquire Video Games Deluxe — a Syndney-based game developer — as the studio aims to get GTA 6 out the door in 2025. Video Games Deluxe has previously worked with Rockstar on multiple L.A. Noire projects, and a recent overhaul to GTA: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition. Following a busy February for Xbox with the release of Avowed, March is looking a little quieter for the team, with no major first-party releases currently set to launch this month. However, Compulsion Games' South of Midnight is coming in April - and we want to know if you're excited for the next big release from Microsoft. As you probably saw, we wrote up an extensive preview of the team's follow-up to We Happy Few last month, and came away mightily impressed by what we played.
